Presentation

The FPAUO Research Group is one of the two groups forming the Institute of Space Science and Technologies of Asturias (ICTEA). The research lines deal with the fundamental constituents of matter and their interactions. Our scientist aproach this work both from the experimental point of view, using data from big colliders like the LHC, as well as from a theoretical perspective, by developing theories to explain the interaction among the fundamental particles.

Some of the aspects addressed are related to the origin of mass and its relation to the Higgs mechanism, gauge and string theories, and quantum gravity.

The group has been working on these research lines at the University of Oviedo for more than 20 years.
